University Partnerships

Padworth College is an accredited NCUK Delivery Partner for the NCUK International Foundation Year programme.

The Northern Consortium of UK Universities (NCUK) is a consortium of leading UK universities, dedicated to helping international students achieve a place on a UK degree programme.  All NCUK programmes are created in conjunction with their founding universities.  This gives NCUK Study Centres, such as Padworth College and students unprecedented access and support through the university application process.

The International Foundation Year (IFY) is a modular programme that prepares international students for first year entry to undergraduate degree courses.  Students study a combination of modules that fit with their degree destination.  There are a number of pathways available, including Business, Engineering, Humanities and Science.  All NCUK programmes also include a specialist English for Academic Purposes module designed to give students the language ability and study skills required for an undergraduate degree in the UK

Because of NCUK’s relationship with its Partner Universities, it can guarantee entry into over 3,000 degree programmes in the UK.  Students can therefore choose the programme and university that is right for them.

Successful completion of the IFY leads to guaranteed entry into one of the NCUK Partner Universities.  No one else can offer this guarantee.  The entry criteria for each of the NCUK universities varies, so where a student is placed will depend on how well they perform in their exams.

The minimum grades required in order to be eligible for the NCUK Guarantee are based on results in the academic modules, plus EAP (English for Academic Purposes).  Students must achieve a minimum of Grade C in their academic modules and an overall Grade C in EAP to ensure progression to one of the NCUK Partner Universities.
